Cherry Group is located in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. Cherry Group employ 100% of their workforce from the local area and prides itself in working in conjunction with several other local businesses and contractors to provide the highest levels of client service and achieve its strategic objectives.
Cherry Group also provide productive and meaningful work experience placements, aimed at giving young people from the local area the skills, confidence, and support to get started in the workplace. To date, two of our full-time staff have been employed as a direct result of their work experience placement – a number that Cherry Group hope to add to. Our recruitment process aligns with equal opportunities best practice, and we are committed to the fair and transparent hiring of people from all backgrounds, including under-represented and disadvantaged groups.
Supporting Local Businesses
Cherry Group are committed to supporting local economy and infrastructure by engaging with local suppliers and subcontractors. We prioritise the procurement of supplies and materials from within the Yorkshire and Humber area to ensure a sustainable and community-focused delivery.
Our preferred glazing supplier is based in the Yorkshire area and meets our standards for quality and sustainability. Our supplier’s location enables quick turnaround times, delivery efficiency and reduced emissions owing to shorter transport distance, lessening environmental impact and meeting de-carbonisation objectives.
We also prioritise local subcontractors to assist us on our projects for tasks such as scaffolding, finishing and waste removal. This helps to reduce project lead times, in addition to supporting local employment, stimulating the local economy and developing workforce skills within the region.
Philanthropic Efforts
Cherry Group have also assisted on community projects on a pro bono basis, the most recent being the DIY SOS Big Build in Beverley, where they were proud to supply the labour of skilled window fitters free of charge to the charity to help facilitate the building of a new community centre – allowing Cherry Group the opportunity to give back to a local community that is a large source of its work and from where all its personnel are employed from.
Cherry Group are also proud to sponsor several local sports teams. At Cherry Group, we believe that local sports teams embody the very essence of our community. Our commitment extends beyond mere sponsorship; we have developed our business model to foster meaningful partnerships that enable these teams to flourish both on and off the field. Through our dedicated sports support initiative, we provide financial backing to several teams across various age groups and disciplines.
The teams we support include BeverleyCricket Club, Cherry Burton Cricket Club, Beverley Town Football Club, and AFC Tickton Tigers. Our contributions fund vital equipment, training facilities, and tournament entry fees that could otherwise burden limited team budgets. We also support school sporting initiatives and are the primary supporter of the Get Ahead Partnership in North Lincolnshire. We measure our success not only by business growth but also through championship trophies, increased participation rates, and the personal development of those whom we support. The testimonials from coaches, parents, and players who have benefitted from our assistance serve as a daily reminder of the profound impact that local sports have on building confidence, teamwork, and community pride supporting Local businesses.
